OVER 300 CORVETTES TO CAVORT IN OCEAN CITY ON SUN. SEPT. 23

OCEAN CITY, N.J.--- Over 300 Corvette cars will be displayed on the Ocean City Boardwalk on Sun., Sept. 23 starting 11:30 a.m. The autos will date back to the Corvette’s first model in 1953 and extend to the present.

The show is one of the largest in the East with Corvette owners from Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and New Jersey participating plus scattered entries from as far away as Ohio and Indiana.

Registration is held at the Ocean City Airport, 26th and Bay Ave. on Sunday morning. Cars depart for the Boardwalk at approximately 11 a.m. and park there till 4 p.m. The line of Corvettes extends from 7th to 12th Streets on the Boardwalk. The event is held rain or shine.

There is an awards ceremony at 3:30 p.m. in front of the Music Pier, Boardwalk and Moorlyn Terrace, between 8th and 9th Streets. A special display of themed Corvettes is exhibited at that location. This year the exhibit will feature 1957 twin Corvettes owned by a husband a wife team. In the past, patriotic colored Corvettes and different body styles were utilized.

Awards are humorous and prizes have been given to entries with the best stuffed animals, widest tires and most unusual items dangling from the rear view mirror. A $100 cash prize is presented to the club with the most participants.
